The use of GenAI in graphic design is becoming a trend that could shift the role of designers, especially in educational institutions that lack professional resources for creating informational content and school promotions. Even though the design made by GenAI still does not fully meet the principles and ethics of design. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the principles of graphic design and the ethics of using AI in the graduation appeal poster of SMA 1 Simanjaya. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach based on a case study on the poster of the graduation appeal of SMA 1 Simanjaya. Data is collected through documentation, interviews, and observations. Data analysis is carried out in 3 stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the analysis showed that the poster for the graduation of SMA 1 Simanjaya had met the principles of contrast, balance, emphasis, and rhythm but had not met the principles of proportion and unity. Meanwhile, in the ethical aspect, posters still contain bias, data privacy risks, and lack of transparency.
