The Role of Corporate Social Responsibility for Community Welfare Around Mining Areas

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a consequence of the fact that institutions or organizations besides having an economic dimension also have a social institution dimension. The function of CSR is to carry out social and environmental duties and responsibilities for business or industrial actors. In the PR (Public Relations) context, corporate social responsibility will be implemented in Community Relations programs and activities. CSR funds can be used for maintenance of public facilities, donations for building village/community facilities. These facilities are especially for the community, which is located around the business or industrial world. In this paper the author uses a normative juridical approach, because of this approach, this model of legal research is called normative legal research. Legal provisions are the primary legal material for Law No. 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining. The author uses the library research method or literature review. This library research research is to conduct research from library books, magazines, journals and articles and sources from the internet that are relevant to the issues discussed.
